Our countries, Russia and Sri Lanka, have a long history of bilateral relations based on mutual respect and trust.
Many Russian citizens have visited this wonderful country more than once. Sri Lanka has a rich, centuries-old history, and it has become an excellent example of the peaceful neighborhood of many ethnic communities and religious groups.
The distinctiveness of Sri Lanka, despite its small territory, is truly designated by the eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites on the island: six priceless cultural monuments and two natural areas.
