On January 27, 2023, the Honorary Consul of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the North-West Federal District of the Russian Federation, V. Zakharian took part in the solemn ceremony of laying the wreaths and flowers at the monument "the Motherland" at the Piskarevsky Memorial Cemetery, dedicated to the 79th anniversary of total liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
